The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS performs calibrations, conformity assessments, and consultations for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at the societal and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: in road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your tasks
- Implementation of calibration services in temperature and humidity
- Maintenance and servicing of measuring stations
- Development of new calibration services
- Possible participation in national and international projects
Your profile
- Completed basic training in electrical engineering or laboratory measurement technology
- Metrological knowledge and knowledge of quality assurance systems according to ISO 17025 are a plus
- Experience in industry or research is an advantage
- Strong customer and service orientation
- Precise, independent, and reliable working style.
- Interest in precise measurement
- Flexibility, resilience, and strong teamwork skills
- Good communication skills in spoken and written form, ideally in two official languages
