Receptionist - Admission Clerk in Maternity
To complete its team, the Reception and Admissions Unit is looking for a receptionist – admission clerk for the maternity ward at a 50% activity rate for a duration of 6 months. The starting date is scheduled for June 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Patient Administrative Management Service is responsible for welcoming and admitting patients upon their arrival at the hospital, as well as billing their services. It is also responsible for medical coding and all contractual relations with health insurance companies.
Mission
- You manage the reception and admission of patients
- You ensure administrative management and data entry.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification
- You are particularly inclined towards patient relations (understanding, empathy, service spirit), while being very precise and efficient in handling administrative data
- You have several years of experience in a reception office or at a front desk (preferably in a medical or hotel environment)
- You are comfortable with the PC/Windows environment and fast at data entry
- You are able to welcome, inform, and conduct a basic conversation in a second language useful to the service (preferably German).
Within the unit, this position at the Maternity site involves irregular hours (series of mornings, evenings, and nights, 1 weekend every 2 weeks and 5 nights every 6 weeks, on-call duties.)
