Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, and the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Center for Foreign Administrative Detention (ZAA) is one of the enforcement institutions of the Canton of Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – and is an institution specialized in the enforcement of measures according to the Foreigners and Integration Act. The ZAA offers space for around 130 admitted persons.
To strengthen the ZAA, we are looking for a socially competent and team-oriented personality to build up a specialized department.
Your area of responsibility
- Independent care and guidance of admitted persons as well as ensuring order, structure, and cleanliness in everyday life
- Social pedagogical care within the reference person system, including conducting individual and group discussions as well as leisure activities
- Professional conflict and crisis management with a solution-oriented approach and development of appropriate action strategies
- Careful administrative work: documentation of target agreements, protocols, and reports as well as internal and external correspondence
- Close interdisciplinary cooperation with other care, medical, and other services as well as external agencies; participation in case discussions
- Expansion and co-design of the social pedagogical daily routine and care work throughout the center, including practical instruction, project collaboration, and continuous further education
What you bring with you
- You have completed training in social pedagogy HF including corresponding professional experience and preferably have experience in the inpatient, clinical field
- You have confident German language skills, oral French and English skills, and are proficient in handling common IT tools
- You are a person with an independent, reliable, and service-oriented working style as well as pronounced communicative and social skills and describe yourself as a team player and resilient
- You are willing to work shifts and can provide a clean criminal record
