Apprentice Laboratory Technician in Chemistry (a)
For August 2026, we offer you a challenging training position in a fascinating research environment.
The exciting activities in the chemistry laboratory include observing, monitoring, processing, communicating, and interpreting data, where you make use of modern analytical instruments. You are responsible for the practical execution of scientific investigations, producing or analyzing chemical substances.
Together with the neighboring institute Eawag, we run a joint teaching laboratory. Besides the introductory course at the start of the apprenticeship, you will also attend several months of training courses in the second and third years. You will attend vocational school in Winterthur.
Secondary school level A is soon history and you will complete it with very good grades, especially in the natural sciences, mathematics, and also language subjects. You have good observation and comprehension skills, are persistent and eager to experiment, and enjoy working in a team. Your technical understanding and manual dexterity are just as important as your ability for abstract and analytical thinking. We also value accuracy and reliability. Enjoying working with computers and electronics is a must.
