Head of Department for Disability Integration and Disability Rights
Social Office | 100% | Chur
The Department for Disability Integration and Disability Rights is part of the cantonal Social Office. It is responsible for the services for the social and professional integration of adults with disabilities as well as disability equality in the canton of Graubünden. The department coordinates or triages cross-departmental and office-wide disability-specific political concerns and issues.
We are looking for a Head of the Department for Disability Integration and Disability Rights starting June 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- You lead the Department for Disability Integration and Disability Rights and are responsible for implementing the disability policy goals and legal requirements of the canton.
- You manage a team of specialists as well as the Coordination Office for Disability Equality and are part of the management of the cantonal Social Office.
- You are responsible for service planning, approval, supervision, and financing of inpatient, semi-inpatient, and outpatient services for people with disabilities.
- Together with the Coordination Office for Disability Equality and in cooperation with the cantonal offices, you implement the government’s action plan for the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
- You are the contact person for institutions, organizations, and authorities and represent the concerns of people with disabilities within the cantonal administration.
- Furthermore, you prepare service contracts, reports, and statements on disability-specific topics and maintain inter-cantonal cooperation.
What we expect from you
- You are a competent and reliable individual with a tertiary degree in social or economic sciences or an equivalent qualification.
- You have leadership experience, organizational and negotiation skills, as well as several years of professional experience.
- Strong communication, conceptual, and editorial skills are among your strengths.
- You have the ability to approach tasks interdisciplinarily, think in networks, and possess solid IT skills.
- You work independently, responsibly, and constructively. You are resilient, a team player, and able to grasp complex issues.
- Knowledge of the cantonal official languages is desirable.
