The Opportunity:
Hitachi Energy is currently looking for an operations expert / specialist for the Transformers Business to join their team. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.
Transformers BU team leverages innovative and diverse technology to transform energy, delivering social, environmental, and economic value and enabling a sustainable energy future for current and future generations. The business’s comprehensive portfolio includes power transformers, traction transformers, insulation and components, digital sensors, and transformer services. The Company’s transformers have been deployed across power
generation, transmission, and distribution to metals and mining, oil and gas, commercial and infrastructure projects, and mobility. As the grid becomes more complex, the transformers play an increasingly vital role in improving power quality and network management.
To be the global reference for GPG power transformers from an operational and manufacturing perspective. To work as a key contributor within the global operations, power transformers, team as a subject matter expert, supporting the various multi-disciplinary, global projects across the Hitachi Energy transformers portfolio.
How You´ll Make an Impact:
- Maintain and enhance the manufacturing platform for coil winding and winding assembly of power transformers and shunt reactors, including process digitization.
- Lead the global Process Owner community as Global Process Owner, driving innovation and best practices in productivity.
- Provide operational and technical support to global power transformer factories, including expansion and greenfield projects.
- Conduct training for local process engineers, ensuring standardization and knowledge sharing.
- Lead technology transfers and support global manufacturing process activities for transformers and shunt reactors.
- Implement and review production standards, and conduct operational compliance audits at factories (minimum two per year).
- Interact with global Engineering and R&D teams, fostering integration and innovation in processes.
- Prepare monthly reports on global project progress, with proven PFMEA experience and operational support for diverse projects.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline is preferred and advanced English required.
- Experience in a global manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to MTS, MTO, and Assemble to Order production models using standardized production processes.
- Solid experience in managing and implementing global projects, with expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and business transformation.
- Practical knowledge of AC/DC transformer and shunt reactor manufacturing concepts, with over 5 years of experience in the sector.
- Proven track record in leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and operations, in global environments.
- Proactive approach to global solutions, working with interdisciplinary teams to achieve common goals.
- Familiarity with change management principles and the ability to effectively implement process improvements.
- Strong customer orientation, with a commitment to understanding needs and delivering solutions that enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
