Medical secretary for the University Neurorehabilitation Service
The University Neurorehabilitation Service of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) is looking for a medical secretary for the neurorehabilitation and paraplegia sectors, with a workload between 80% and 100%.
The starting date is scheduled for February 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a major role in care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) brings together the neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology, and neurorehabilitation services, the Leenaards Memory Center, the Neuroscience Research Center, as well as the Spinal Surgery Service. It provides integrated and personalized care for diseases affecting the central and peripheral nervous system.
The University Neurorehabilitation Service works with patients presenting all types of nervous system injuries (traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, tumors, encephalitis, etc.). It guarantees highly specialized and interdisciplinary care throughout the recovery process, both inpatient and outpatient.
Mission
- You ensure the administrative management of patient files in outpatient and inpatient settings for the neurorehabilitation unit and paraplegia consultations
- You organize multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate follow-up meetings
- You collaborate flexibly and responsively with the team, ensuring continuity of administrative tasks
- You guarantee the proper circulation of documents between the different concerned services and sectors
- You contribute to the dynamics of the secretaries' pool, promoting versatility and mutual support
- You welcome, inform, and guide patients, their relatives, visitors, and internal collaborators with professionalism and kindness
- You provide quality reception, demonstrating active listening, availability, and an attitude adapted to each situation
- You provide clear and well-argued answers, strictly respecting confidentiality rules.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position
- You master French perfectly, both spoken and written, and are comfortable with typing (10 fingers)
- You demonstrate versatility and a strong spirit of mutual aid
- You know how to prioritize your tasks and work autonomously
- You have excellent organizational skills, essential for the position
- You have developed interpersonal skills, with communication adapted to each interlocutor
- You show empathy, active listening, and availability, especially towards patients and their relatives
- You master common office tools (Microsoft Office suite); knowledge of CHUV institutional tools is an asset.
