The Faculty of Psychology is one of the seven faculties of the oldest university in Switzerland. With our focuses on Society & Choice and Health & Interventions, we are nationally and internationally successful in research and teaching.
In the Youth Mental Health department, we investigate individual, interpersonal, and psychosocial factors that contribute to the development of mental disorders and influence the help-seeking process of young people. To address these questions, we use a broad range of methods, including clinical diagnostics, ambulatory assessments of mood, behavior, and social interactions, as well as qualitative interviews.
The advertised research assistant position supports two research projects:
One project examines dyadic interactions in the help-seeking process of adolescents with mental health problems and their caregivers in a mixed-method diary study. The second project is a study on the translation and validation of the questionnaire Work and Social Adjustment for Youth (WSASY) in collaboration with the University of Wuppertal.
Your tasks
- Assistance in study administration (e.g., creation of REDCap database, study monitoring)
- Recruitment and data collection of study participants
- Conducting diagnostic (Kinder-DIPS), qualitative, and focus group interviews with adolescents
- Transcription of qualitative data
- Data monitoring and cleaning (e.g., electronic diary entries)
- Conducting systematic literature reviews
Your profile
- Advanced bachelor’s degree or beginning master’s degree in psychology
- Interest in research in clinical child and adolescent psychology
- Reliable, careful working style and independent work organization
- High initiative, quick comprehension, and strong commitment
- Good social skills and experience in dealing and communicating with adolescents and their guardians
- Very good oral and written German skills, good English skills
