- Summary:
- The Master Planner / Supply Chain Manager leads all planning, scheduling, and purchasing functions within the assigned business unit to ensure seamless flow of materials and production. This position is responsible for creating and executing a master plan that aligns supply, demand, and capacity to achieve 95% on-time delivery and 95% platinum item availability targets.

- Acting as the operational control center, this role maintains a clear view of customer demand, production capability, and material readiness. The Master Planner / Supply Chain Manager ensures that all supply chain activities — from supplier management to shop floor scheduling — are fully synchronized to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.

- This position directly supervises planners, schedulers, and buyers, and reports to the General Manager of the respective Business Unit (Metals or Plastics).

- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Oversight
- •• Lead and develop the planning and purchasing teams, ensuring clear accountability for materials availability, schedule adherence, and cost control.
- •• Establish and maintain a culture of proactive communication, analytical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- •• Coordinate closely with the Production Manager, Quality, and Engineering to ensure materials and schedules align with operational needs and new product introductions.
- •• Provide real-time visibility to leadership on production pace, supply health, and constraint management.
- Planning and Scheduling
- •• Develop, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all product families.
- •• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage open orders, work center loading, and production sequencing.
- •• Analyze demand patterns, forecast accuracy, and capacity constraints to balance production efficiency with customer service levels.
- •• Drive daily and weekly scheduling reviews to ensure adherence to plan and rapid issue resolution.
- •• Monitor production flow and proactively address material shortages, bottlenecks, or deviations from plan.
- Supply Chain and Purchasing Management
- •• Oversee all purchasing activities to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials, components, and subcontracted parts.
- •• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and delivery standards.
- •• Optimize inventory levels by managing safety stocks, reorder points, and lead-time parameters.
- •• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve shortages, expedite materials, and mitigate risk.
- •• Lead cost reduction initiatives and evaluate supplier performance through metrics and quarterly reviews.
- Control, Analysis, and Performance
- •• Maintain control dashboards and KPIs covering on-time delivery, inventory turns, production adherence, and supplier performance.
- •• Provide accurate and timely reporting to the General Manager and Operations leadership team.
- •• Analyze open order data to identify systemic issues and develop corrective action plans.
- •• Use ERP analytics and Excel modeling to support data-driven decision-making across the business unit.
- Collaboration and Communication
- •• Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance) to align supply and production priorities.
- •• Communicate status of key orders, material availability, and production readiness daily.
- •• Coordinate with the other campus’s Master Planner / Supply Chain Manager to align overall GFCP demand and capacity balancing.
Your profile
- Required Skills / Abilities:
- •• Strong command of ERP/MRP systems (SAP or equivalent).
- •• Advanced Excel and analytical skills; ability to model data and interpret trends.
- •• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- •• Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- •• Broad understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control, and procurement.
- •• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver results.

- Education & Experience:
- •• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field (required).
- •• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
- •• Minimum 5–7 years of combined experience in production planning, materials management, or purchasing.
- •• Demonstrated success in leading teams and improving operational performance metrics.

- •• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
