Job Purpose / Reason for the Position:
· The laboratory technician will be responsible for performing special/complex analyses independently, implementing simple analytical methods under the supervision of the senior chemist or laboratory technician. Managing simple projects, as well as supervising apprentices or interns, is also part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
· Perform quality control analyses according to given objectives. Interpret analysis results and propose conclusions. Develop/optimize laboratory procedures.
· Know and manage analytical methods related to existing processes.
· Support the development of new analytical methods; Manage simple projects for the development of new methods.
· Lead the activities of apprentices or interns (as defined by the organization). Take on the role of mentor according to the requirements set by the EIL.
· Master and use several specific devices according to the laboratory organization. Take responsibility for the proper functioning and service of these devices.
· Ensure knowledge of HSEQ risks and comply with HSEQ rules related to the activity.
· Perform work efficiently, using equipment appropriately.
· Ensure that all analysis results are always well documented and up to date.
· Identify changes/improvements to laboratory procedures. Propose development programs and discuss them with the responsible laboratory technician.
· Always guarantee the organization of the workspace (fume hood, laboratory tables, office) in a clean and safe manner.

· Laboratory technician apprenticeship with CFC and experience as a Junior Laboratory Technician for a minimum of 3 years or several years in the position elsewhere.
· Knowledge of HSEQ procedures and systems for safe laboratory work.
· Knowledge of analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, etc.)
· Good knowledge of basic computer tools (Microsoft Office)
· Fluent French and knowledge of English is an asset.
