Nurse in the Hygiene, Prevention and Infection Control Unit
To complete its team, the Hygiene, Prevention and Infection Control Unit of CHUV (HPCi-CHUV) is looking for a nurse specialized in HPCi at a rate of 80% to 100%, starting April 1, 2026 or to be agreed upon
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hygiene, Prevention and Infection Control Unit (HPCi-CHUV) is attached to the Infectious Diseases Service within the Department of Medicine. It is composed of a specialized medical-nursing team in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and works closely with the epidemiology laboratory.
The unit's main missions are to prevent, monitor, and control healthcare-associated infections, investigate and manage epidemic situations in the hospital environment, and combat the emergence and spread of bacterial resistance. It also participates in pre- and post-graduate teaching activities, continuing education, and conducts research projects in a collaborative and multidisciplinary dynamic at the institutional, cantonal, and national levels.

Mission
- You ensure the implementation of HPCi services including surveillance programs, prevention measures, and epidemic investigations
- You lead promotion campaigns in the field of infection prevention and control
- You support care teams in applying best practices and institutional guidelines
- You participate in working groups and multidisciplinary commissions related to your field of activity
- You contribute to teaching and continuing education in hospital hygiene
- You take an active part in organizing work and ensuring the continuity of the unit's activities
- You participate in supervising interns and integrating new collaborators
- You actively contribute to an interdisciplinary approach and teamwork.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma or an equivalent title recognized by the Swiss Red Cross (mandatory)
- You have at least 5 years of confirmed experience in a hospital setting
- Ideally, you have experience in hospital hygiene, infection prevention and control
- You have training or a diploma in infection prevention and control, which is an asset
- You possess excellent interpersonal skills and collaborate easily within multidisciplinary teams
- You demonstrate rigor, autonomy, and proactivity, with very good priority management
- You have analytical and synthesis skills, a sense of responsibility, and structured organization
- You master common computer tools (Windows environment)
- You have perfect oral and written French; knowledge of German and/or English is an asset.
