YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Design and maintain system architecture: Development and documentation of a scalable, modular architecture for EUROLOCKING, based on commercial off-the-shelf components (COTS) and safety controls (SIL4-certified).
- Integration of adjacent systems: Ensuring seamless connection of signal boxes to adjacent systems such as operations centers, other signal boxes, and field devices via digital interfaces and network communication.
- Safety and standards compliance: Implementation of requirements according to CENELEC standards as well as compliance with national approval guidelines.
- Technological advancement: Evaluation and integration of new technologies (e.g., LED signals, track vacancy detection, decentralized control) to increase availability and reduce lifecycle costs.
- Collaboration: Coordination with software and hardware development, sales, and project management to evaluate and implement architectural specifications in concrete projects.
YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Completed studies in electrical engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or comparable technical education
- Several years of professional experience in the development and architecture of safety-critical systems, ideally in the railway environment
- Experience with PLC systems, industrial controls, and COTS components as well as knowledge of network technologies and digital interfaces
- Knowledge in applying CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50716/50128) is an advantage
- Expertise in designing and documenting complex system architectures
- Experience in subsystem integration and interface management
- Very good German skills (C1), good English skills for technical documentation and international collaboration
- Analytical thinking and structured working style
