What's the role?
・The person in charge is responsible for organizing, managing, and developing the functions of Customs, Haulage, Warehousing, Transportation and Customer experience.
・In order to achieve the company's goals and increase customer satisfaction, KPIs of the warehouse/transportation must be continuously improved and managed. To this end, it is necessary to identify the customer's logistics-related demand and propose services that can be introduced.
・Preparation and implementation for regular/irregular audits, etc. must be comprehensively managed.
・Establish a mid- to long-term network strategy, establish and implement feasible action plans, along with continuous review on the supply network strategy.
What does the role involve?
The purpose of the role is to develop local / MO logistics strategy in alignment with the Regional and Global Logistics strategy. Oversees Warehousing and Transportation within the MO. People responsibility (hiring, training, coaching, motivation, and performance management) along with budget and planning responsibility at the MO level. Member of the local management team.
Scope: Responsible for Warehousing and Transportation (not Materials Management) in an MO M; member of the local management team
What you need is:
The successful candidate has extensive distribution experience in warehousing and transportation management as well as people management experience in guiding a dynamic team of professionals. Reporting to Head of Logistics of Hilti Japan and responsible for working on distribution strategy to support Hilti Japan in achieving our business objectives and drive great and engaging customer experience.
Warehouse & Transportation management
Manage the overall warehouses network (3PL) and last mile transportation operations (3PL) to achieve high customer service level by driving continuous improvements.
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of our warehouse network (3PL) and transportation partners to meet the targeted performance in each areas.
Control warehouse and transport cost according to productivity target level by analyzing cost drivers and planning mitigation actions.
Ensure compliance and transparency of audited end to end distribution processes.
Establish a mid- to long-term network strategy to support business sales and portfolio growth.
Work closely with the Region team to learn and share best practices, align on the roadmap and planned initiatives.
Passionate about people development and support the team through coaching and offering clear direction driving for high performing and caring culture and fully engaged in team members’ career development and build a strong succession pipeline for Hilti logistics community through involve in global talent recruiting with deep understanding of DEI and employee engagement.
Since warehouse & transport directly impact to customer experience, this role needs to take a lead for customer experience for Japan.
Customs & Haulage management
Manage customs brokers contracts and performance.
Coordinate the day-to-day activities to ensure smooth inbound process from Port to warehouse.
Review regularly free trade agreements in order to generate savings opportunities.
Profile
- Degree or above in logistics, supply chain, operation management or industrial operations or other discipline (MBA is an added advantage).
- At least 7 years of experience gained in large scale Japanese company or MNCs with focus on distribution, warehousing and transportation management with strong understanding of company business and customers’ needs.
- Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills with the ability to communication and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and gain their trust in implementing key operational decisions that is beneficial to Hilti and our customers.
- Inspiring person that cascade the vision and strategy clearly to the team and work with them to bring logistics department to the next level.
- Strong project management and capable in managing multi-tasks whilst meeting the objectives and deadline.
- Highly proficient in both written and spoken Japanese and English as well as passionate about LEAN methodology.
