Environmental Therapist FPA 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Psychiatric-Psychological Service (PPD) is one of seven main departments of JuWe and one of the largest institutions for forensic psychotherapy and psychiatry in Switzerland. Around 70 professionals from the fields of psychology, psychiatry, social work, environmental therapy, and administration are responsible for the treatment of offenders certified according to the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard. The broad range of services includes treatments in dyadic, group, and environmental therapeutic settings within the framework of court-ordered measures as well as disorder-specific therapies of basic psychiatric care. A focus of treatment is relapse-preventive offense-oriented psychotherapy for violent and sexual offenders in custody and in freedom. The PPD is recognized by the Swiss Institute for Medical Continuing and Further Education as a training center in forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy, category A.
To complement our dedicated treatment team in the area of inpatient adult forensics (StEF), we are looking for motivated environmental therapeutic staff in the Forensic Psychiatric Department (FPA).
Your tasks
- Key worker duties with treatment planning and support of a prosocial and treatment-promoting environment
- Development and implementation of case-specific environmental therapeutic treatment measures considering the psychological and physical resources of the measure clients
- Participation in ensuring and further developing reliable correctional-organizational and security-relevant processes in the FPA (e.g., ensuring hygiene, catering, laundry changes, sick reports, and mail)
- Planning, conducting, and evaluating accompanied therapeutic outings and vacations with the measure clients
Your profile
- Completed training as a nursing professional, ideally in psychiatric nursing, and experience in clinical or forensic institutions
- Experience in correctional services, especially in the areas of care or work/employment, is not a prerequisite but would be useful and helpful
- You are characterized by a mature and conflict-capable personality with excellent interpersonal skills
- Your pronounced team and communication skills support successful collaboration
- You are open to interdisciplinary work and willing to continuously learn
