Operations Manager M/F at 80%-100%
The Riviera-Chablais Hospital, Vaud-Valais (HRC), is an inter-cantonal reference hospital, bringing together more than 2,000 employees. The Rennaz Hospital Center has more than 350 acute care beds. It is complemented by two Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Clinics as well as two medical on-call services. The main responsibilities of this position are
The Operations Manager ensures the reliability, performance, and technical consistency of products within their scope. They act as the conductor of IT operations: coordinating delivery activities, infrastructure evolutions, migrations, and ensuring the proper execution of the run at the technical domain level. In complementarity with the Application Manager (AM), they ensure service continuity, operational security, and the quality of technical deliverables.
Operational management
- Supervises the operational execution of products: availability, performance, incidents, capacity.
- Ensures that recurring tasks are orchestrated and executed correctly: implementation of product monitoring, data backup, system security.
- Coordinates cross-technical projects: migrations, infrastructure changes, security, compliance.
- Anticipates capacity needs, ensures environment stability, and optimizes resources.
- Leads the resolution of system incidents and problems.
- Monitors service commitments (SLA, quality, costs).
- Leads sessions with the partner responsible for product operation (operations follow-up, service acceptance, performance monitoring, innovation sessions).
Coordination with product teams
- Works closely with the Application Manager to ensure coherence between run and evolutions.
- Ensures proper articulation between products and transversal services (infrastructure, network, security, support).
- Supports the Application Manager in critical delivery phases: production deployment, major changes, release planning, upgrades, and configurations of hardware, licenses, and software.
- Participates in product rituals (prioritization review, backlog follow-up, change committees).
Continuous improvement and industrialization
- Identifies delivery optimization levers: supervision, monitoring, capacity planning.
- Contributes to defining and applying technical and methodological standards.
- Evaluates system performance and recommends improvements.
- Proposes continuous improvement actions on operational processes.
Contribution to governance and transformation
- Participates in transversal orchestration with the Application Manager to ensure coherence of inter-product projects.
- Contributes to the technical roadmap and prioritization of infrastructure evolutions.
- Ensures operations are carried out in accordance with Executive Board directives (data management, application of security principles, etc.).
- Provides a consolidated view of operational risks and technical debt.
- In collaboration with operations referents (CISO, CIO, Head of Operation), ensures the update plan applicable to the product.
- Participates in product team coordination meetings and with other Operations Managers.
When required, orchestrates the various technical project activities related to the products under their responsibility.
We require
Degrees and experience
- A university degree at Bachelor level in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
- 3 years of experience in application management or managing a group of applications.
- 3 years of experience in information systems architecture (healthcare domain is a plus).
- Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS or others).
- Knowledge of standard hospital protocols (HL7, FHIR, DICOM, etc.).
- At least 3 years of experience in a hospital environment (Switzerland or elsewhere) or healthcare domain.
- Knowledge of project management, from needs identification to service production deployment.
- ITIL v3 or v4 certification.
- Good command of French, spoken and written.
- Knowledge of English, minimum B1 level.
- Excellent mastery of standard productivity programs (office, collaboration, BI).
