Shape the strategic further development of the services of the Technology Department of the Bern Cantonal Police. In this versatile leadership role, you are the hub between internal stakeholders, external partners, and the department management – with the goal of ensuring smooth, secure, and modern operation of the technical infrastructure. In doing so, you support the specialist areas organizationally and technically and actively contribute to improving service quality, safety, and innovation.
Your tasks
- Technical, organizational, and personnel management of the newly created and organized Services area, consisting of the Technology Secretariat, the 7x24h HelpDesk (1st and 2nd level support), as well as procurement and change coordination (a total of up to approx. 40 employees, including approx. 4-6 directly subordinated staff members and 2-3 managers)
- Establishment and further development of facility management structures, including the introduction of the role of safety officer for fire protection and building security at the new Police Center Bern (PZB) as well as harmonization of processes across all locations
- Support of the department head in the overall service delivery of technology to ensure the operational and functional requirements of the front and cross-sectional departments
- Assuming the hub function for coordination with other areas as well as handling special assignments
- Leading subprojects or technical specialist teams within the area or department
- Ensuring and continuously improving service quality in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Participation in strategic developments in the areas of digitization, organization, and service management as well as preparation of decision-making bases
- Deputizing for the department head and representing the area in internal and external committees and professional networks
Your profile
- Solid education (HF/FH/University) with further training in business administration, corporate organization, or project management as well as several years of leadership experience in a technical or service-related environment
- Proven leadership competence at area or department management level (ideally >20 employees), combined with the ability to motivate, develop teams, and lead through change processes
- Good technical knowledge in areas such as IT and telecommunications, facility management, logistics, digitization, fleet or equipment management, as well as willingness to acquire the necessary expertise in additional areas
- Experience in service and business continuity management as well as a pronounced understanding of service quality and safety
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills with experience in developing and implementing strategies, especially in digitization and process optimization
- Strong communication and networking skills for target-group-appropriate communication of technical content and collaboration with internal and external partners
- High social skills such as teamwork, conflict and empathy skills, as well as resilience and decisiveness
- Innovative strength and willingness to change, combined with a pronounced quality, risk, and sense of responsibility
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form, ideally good oral knowledge of French
- Driver's license category B
