Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Correctional Facility (JVA) Pöschwies is one of seven main departments of JuWe and, with 399 places, the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, takes into account the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
In the area of Economy & Work, we are looking immediately or by arrangement, temporarily for two years, for an extremely flexible, resilient, and eager-to-learn personality with high social competence and an interest in correctional services.
Your tasks
- You support our foremen/women in exciting and varied activities in the work operations
- You take on important safety, control, and supervisory tasks and ensure smooth operational processes
- You supervise and guide prisoners, promote their skills, and accompany them at various workplaces
- You provide materials and carry out quality controls to ensure flawless execution of the work
- You ensure order and safety and create a stable environment for prisoners, employees, and external persons
- You actively engage and contribute to safety in emergency management
Your profile
- You have completed a basic technical-craft education
- You have several years of professional experience in the technical-craft field
- You bring experience in staff leadership and/or in supervising apprentices
- You have very good command of German spoken and written; foreign language skills are desirable
- You possess solid IT user skills
- You are characterized by a quick grasp and willingness to familiarize yourself with new areas of responsibility
- You are a team player, very resilient, and have high flexibility
- You enjoy working with people and varied, changing assignments in different work operations of the JVA
- You are at least 25 years old
- You can demonstrate an impeccable reputation
