Certified dialysis nurse for the Pediatric Nephrology Unit
The Department of Women-Mother-Child (DFME) at CHUV is looking for a certified dialysis nurse at a 60% activity rate to strengthen its pediatric nephrology unit. The starting date is scheduled for July 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The general mission of the outpatient clinics is to offer primary and tertiary outpatient services, including follow-up of chronic patients and specialized consultations, for infants, children, and adolescents up to adulthood. This care is part of a multidisciplinary and patient- and family-centered approach.
The pediatric nephrology unit provides specialized care such as hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, and hemofiltration (chronic or acute). It also plays a key role in supporting patients and their families, interprofessional collaboration, as well as in teaching and research.
Mission
- You are responsible for the care of patients and their families for dialysis services
- You manage the equipment specific to this activity
- You take shifts to respond to emergencies at night and on weekends
- You participate in the specialized pediatric nephrology outpatient consultation
- You provide training to staff in pediatric units.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification, ideally with several years of professional experience in dialysis. Experience in pediatrics would be an asset
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in an interprofessional team
- You are autonomous, organized, and responsible
- You demonstrate a strong interest in the care, follow-up, and teaching of outpatient patients
- You are flexible and able to adapt to fluctuating activity.
Depending on your profile, the job description can be adapted and the salary grade will be between levels 8 and 9.
