The Age and Care department of the City of Winterthur offers a diverse range of services for the population of Winterthur in the five senior centers as well as with Spitex. Would you like to ensure smooth operations in the kitchen and service of the Neumarkt Senior Center? Do you enjoy giving our 65 residents a piece of quality of life through your work? Then you are exactly right with us! The senior center is located in the old town of Winterthur and is reachable within a few minutes on foot from the main train station. From October 1, 2025, we are looking for a temporary, until the end of 2025 with the option of extension, a creative and responsible leader who brings fun and motivation to help shape the realignment of gastronomy in the Neumarkt Senior Center area.

Your Tasks

Overall responsibility for the budget, administrative, personnel and professional management of the kitchen and restaurant (service) with around 13 employees

Ensuring smooth operational processes for residents as well as internal and external customers

Regular active participation in the operational daily business

Planning and organizing internal and external events

Menu and offer planning in cooperation with the gastronomy managers of the four senior centers and the gastronomy development expert

Binding participation in the regular gastronomy specialist meetings

Your Profile

A completed training as a cook and/or diet cook as well as further training to head chef with a federal professional certificate (BP) or higher

Several years of professional experience, ideally in a nursing home or hospital operation, as well as experience in upscale gastronomy

Innovative and assertive personality with joy in creating and implementing new ideas in an interprofessional team

Sense for trends, creative offer design and its presentation

Solid IT skills with the most common Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and knowledge of PEP and the menu selection and ordering system Sanalogic is advantageous
