Chief Architect of Works at CIT-S
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) of the CHUV is looking for a chief architect of works at a 90% activity rate to complete its team.
The starting date is scheduled for March 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in the fields of care, medical research, and training.
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) has as its main missions the operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical assistance, and consulting for the entire real estate portfolio of the CHUV and its affiliated sites.
The three main missions of CIT-S are:
- Construction and modernization: study and realization of architectural projects, renovation of technical installations
- Operation: maintenance of technical and biomedical equipment, as well as infrastructures, and ensuring the production and distribution of fluids and energies necessary for medical, research, technical, and administrative activities
- Protection and safety: protection of property and people.
Mission
- You carry out study phases (feasibility, preliminary project, final project, authorizations) for projects located on the hospital site and on external sites
- You ensure the preparation phases for execution, develop and manage technical projects
- You manage external contractors on certain operations
- You direct the works for various construction sites
- You prepare the necessary documents ensuring the application of the rules of the State of Vaud and internal procedures regarding construction
- You operate in an environment subject to a quality management system.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Arts HES/EPFL in architecture or an equivalent recognized degree
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in the construction field, as well as in carrying out BIM studies (Revit)
- You have good knowledge of standards, laws, and regulations related to construction professions
- You master professional computer tools (AutoCAD, MS Project, CAD) as well as common office tools
- You demonstrate personal commitment, good team spirit, and collaboration skills
- Technical knowledge in the hospital field is an asset.
