Your main tasks
The Associate Mechanical Engineer role at Mikron Automation is ideal for early-career professionals eager to contribute to the development of scalable, high-performance automation platforms. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to develop and refine custom assembly solutions that support life-saving pharmaceutical and medical technologies, as well as the automotive and consumer goods industries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Product Knowledge – Develop foundational understanding of Mikron products, platforms, and engineering standards through training and hands-on experience.
- Design - Assist in the design and integration of automation components, systems, or software under the guidance of experienced engineers and team leads.
- Fine-Tune & Testing - Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and debug activities during development, build, and commissioning phases.
- Customer & Project Interaction - Attend internal and customer-facing meetings, design reviews, and acceptance tests to understand requirements and contribute to project success under the direction of project managers.
- Tools & Systems - Utilize engineering tools and systems (e.g., CAD, PDM, PLC/HMI software, vision platforms) to support design, documentation, and testing.
- Documentation & Standards - Create and maintain engineering documentation (e.g., drawings, BOMs, specifications) in accordance with project and company standards.
- Compliance & Safety - Follow all safety protocols, engineering and industry standards, and company policies in daily work activities.
- Support & Flexibility - Provide support across project phases including design, build, validation, installation, and post-installation service. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 0+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, automation, or manufacturing preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering methods and best practices.
- Proficient with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor [preferred], SolidWorks, Creo, etc.)
- Proficient in 2D drawing generation, best practices, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Familiar with PDM, PLM, ERP
- Familiar with DfX principles (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), etc)
- Exposure to standards for design and safety of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Familiar with common manufacturing methods (mill, lathe, sheet metal, weldments, etc.)
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, have a valid state driver license and be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel
- Ability to fluently speak, read and write in English.
- Must be able to travel or work flexible hours as required for project deliverables.
- Mikron Corporation Denver is a drug free working environment.
- Must be able to work on-site at least three days per week at Mikron Automation’s facility. Remote work may be permitted for up to two days per week, subject to project requirements and team alignment.

Pay Range
- $ 70,000 - $77,000 per year
