Specialized clinical nurse within the Spinal Surgery Department
The Spinal Surgery Department of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences is looking for a specialized clinical nurse at 80% from December 1, 2025.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes the services of neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation, the Leenaards Memory Center, the Neuroscience Research Center, as well as the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalized care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from the brain to the muscle.
The Spinal Surgery Service at CHUV, led by Prof. Dominique Rothenfluh, combines the spinal activities of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Service (OTR) and the Neurosurgery Service (NCH). It offers specialized consultations and manages the full range of adult spinal pathologies such as certain degenerative diseases, spinal trauma, spinal tumors, etc.
Mission
As a specialized clinical nurse within the spinal surgery service and its neurosurgery division, you:
- Ensure an expert role in nursing care and practice based on the use of evidence-based data
- Support interprofessional collaboration to promote continuous improvement of clinical quality
- Develop a consultation, coaching, and guidance offer aimed at optimizing the clinical skills of the team
- Implement disease and accident prevention actions, as well as health promotion and maintenance
- Actively participate in the dissemination and implementation of new knowledge in clinical practice and develop clinical and academic links.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Science in nursing sciences
- You have at least 4 years of confirmed clinical experience in the field of practice
- You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and are able to read and understand scientific literature in English
- You are comfortable using office and institutional IT tools (Windows environment)
- You master the patient record as well as aspects related to documentation and prescriptions.
