Bilingual Science Editor Communication (m/f/d) (100%)
To strengthen the Eawag communication team, we are looking for a committed individual as Science Editor Communication with a focus on the research department Settlement Hygiene and Water for Development ( Sandec ) starting May 1, 2026, or by agreement.
In this versatile dual role, you will work in German and English at the interface between research and communication. You will prepare scientific content in an understandable, effective, and multimedia manner – with a special focus on development cooperation, environment, and sustainable sanitation solutions.
In addition, you will support the department heads of communication and Sandec in the strategic development of channels and formats. As part of central processes of both departments, you will actively contribute to the sustainable shaping of Eawag's external impact.

Sandec
- Conceptualization, planning, and editorial management of the print and online publication Sandec News in close cooperation with the department heads
- Further development and maintenance of Sandec's social media channels
(e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) - Editorial management and continuous updating of the
Sandec website - Responsibility for written communication, including news articles, blog posts, event reports, marketing materials, and content
related to the mandate - Close collaboration with the future fundraising function
- Support of visual communication for various channels in cooperation with Eawag's communication experts
- Development and implementation of multimedia communication projects
for Eawag and its research departments - Operation and further development of the Eawag video studio (reservations, maintenance, upgrades) as well as training and support of users
- Advising staff on the conception and implementation of multimedia content
- Creation of primarily multimedia content for the
Eawag website and other channels - Editorial collaboration on Eawag's social media channels
- Support of projects within the communication team
- University degree (preferably in natural sciences)
as well as journalistic training or a comparable higher professional education in communication - Several years of professional experience in editorial work and science communication, ideally in a university or
public environment - Strong editorial skills and high linguistic confidence
in dealing with complex scientific topics - Strong interest in development cooperation, environmental
and environmental research - Very good knowledge of digital media, multimedia, and social media as well as a sense for target group-oriented communication
- Experience in visual communication and audiovisual production
- Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written, are mandatory for this position. Good French skills
are an advantage
