Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Front Office Supervisor, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
General Missions:
- Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Ensure reception coverage during the day or night as well as the quality of services offered to guests
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs
- Accompany guests to their rooms and explain the operation of the hotel and its facilities
- Handle various guest requests (technical, additional items, etc.)
- Manage the telephone switchboard and the fire emergency center
- Ensure the promotion of the loyalty program
- Learn and apply the technical and emotional standards of LQA
- Apply and master safety rules during critical situations: Think and stay calm, alert as soon as the situation allows – observe to provide as many details as possible during testimony – protect the scene until police arrival
- Commit to the quality of service, discretion, and perfect honesty
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and remain calm at all times
- Respect ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary prescriptions
- Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company
- Perform any other assigned tasks
Specific Missions for Reception Intern:
- Welcome guests and process arrivals and departures according to chain standards
- Accompany guests to their rooms and explain the operation of the hotel and its facilities
- Assist guests with their specific requests
- Promote the hotel’s points of sale (restaurants, bars, and Spa)
- Make reservations
- Answer the phone and manage the telephone switchboard
- Follow up on complaints and ensure communication
- Ensure the promotion of the loyalty program
- Follow up on guest requests (technical, laundry, lost and found, etc.)
Specific Missions for Night Auditor Intern:
- Perform day-end closing operations and verify their accuracy
- Write a report of activities and problems occurring each night
- Invoice guests based on information communicated by various points of sale
- Prepare daily statistical and accounting reports
- Transmit necessary elements to the accounting department for invoice dispatch
- Provide In Room Dining and Housekeeping service during the night
- Handle various guest requests (technical, additional items, etc.)
- Handle payments and other currency exchange operations
- Make reservations
- Ensure reception coverage during the night and the quality of services offered to guests
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs
- Accompany guests to their rooms and explain the operation of the hotel and its facilities
- Manage guest telephone calls
- Manage the telephone switchboard and the fire emergency center
- Ensure guest wake-up calls
- Drive and park guests’ cars according to standards
- Apply and master safety rules during critical situations: Think and stay calm, alert as soon as the situation allows – observe to provide as many details as possible during testimony – protect the scene until police arrival
- Conduct security rounds in the hotel
- Ensure opening and closing of access to Fairmont Le Montreux Palace
- Ensure turning off and on of lighting in the hotel
Qualifications
- Internship required as part of hotel or tourism training
- Fluency in French
- Good knowledge of English
- Mastery of a third language (German, Arabic, or Russian) is an asset
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows applications
- Professional appearance required
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team
- Particularly responsible and reliable

Physical requirements of the position (include but are not limited to):
- Frequent: standing or walking throughout the work period.

Additional Information
VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
