Job opening for an outreach social work position, a socio-cultural animator with a mandate as team leader at 80%. The team supports adolescents and young adult asylum seekers unaccompanied by their families in socio-cultural integration. The actions are carried out in complementarity with those of the Hospice Général shelters.
Job Description
Ensure the responsibility of the RMNA outreach social work team, which notably involves:
- Being the responsible reference for a work team composed of seven animators, three socio-educational assistants, and four supervisors, in terms of commitments, periodic evaluation, team management, support for planning, and organization of working time;
- Developing dynamic and trusting communication internally and with various partners and ensuring the flow of information with key institutions;
- Organizing team work and ensuring the implementation of the action plan developed in collaboration with the Hospice Général and the FASe regional coordination;
- Supporting the team's reflection work and promoting the coherence of interventions on the 3 identified intervention areas;
- Assuming management tasks, including budgetary and organizational tasks related to activities and objectives set by FASe and Hospice Général;
- Actively participating in the conceptualization and implementation of targeted actions, as well as animation projects in neighborhoods and/or community-type projects;
- Ensuring prevention, proximity, and mediation work with young people disconnected from social ties and/or seeking social integration, through various means such as street work, individualized follow-ups, sports, supervised management of premises, open reception premises, etc;
- Based on observed social issues, participating in the development of collective work, in collaboration with other social workers in the region, existing social structures, and municipal authorities.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialized Educator (DEES), State Higher Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS) with SEFRI recognition for the last two diplomas);
- Desired experience in social action, particularly outreach, knowledge of the characteristics of the RMNA and ex.RMNA population, strong interest and demonstrated abilities for working with adolescents/young adults in migration situations;
- Skills to perform the role of team leader, successful experience in team management; ability to manage conflicts;
- Good knowledge and practice in project methodology and situation diagnosis;
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor and respect for deadlines;
- Skills for networking: collaboration with social actors of the municipality and canton, and proximity institutions;
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social network;
- Ability to work autonomously while ensuring team work in collaboration with other social workers in the region, coherently and respectfully with the Institution’s requests and in connection with it;
- Ability to evolve in a constantly changing institutional environment;
- Sense of responsibility, initiative, creativity, listening, excellent resilience;
- Good experience in organization and planning, managing priorities and emergencies.

- Flexible and irregular hours (evening and weekend activity);
- Salary according to the Geneva State salary scale: maximum class 16.
