The Novotel Monte Carlo is a recently established hotel in Monte Carlo, featuring 218 rooms, a restaurant, a lounge bar, 500 m² of modular meeting rooms (ProAct Label), a swimming pool, fitness room, and hammam.
MISSIONS:
The Technical Manager, reporting to the Hotel Director, works closely with all departments to ensure the offer and continuity of service, optimize sustainable building maintenance, and ensure the safety of the building and its occupants.
He/she leads a team (which may include maintenance agents, technicians, painters, interns, etc., depending on the period) responsible for the maintenance of the establishment and fire safety, and manages the budgets necessary for these activities as well as the "water and energy" budgets.
The position involves collaborating with all cross-functional services of the Essendi Group and Accor involved in the management contract as well as with the co-ownership in which the establishment is located.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
He/she is responsible for the proper functioning of all technical elements and installations of the hotel and their lifecycle.
He/she pilots and optimizes energy consumption, implements and monitors the Preventive Maintenance Plan, and manages all subcontracting contracts related to his/her area of responsibility.
He/she is also responsible for the fire safety of the establishment. Therefore, he/she coordinates and leads all hotel teams to implement regulatory procedures and follow-ups (safety of people and property, quality and customer comfort). He/she prepares and actively participates in the establishment's periodic safety commission.
He/she ensures reporting for his/her department, notably through tools implemented by the Essendi Group, including: RECAP (Energy) SET (Regulatory Compliance).
He/she implements document monitoring related to risk prevention and its management: safety register, accessibility, health records, Asbestos Technical File, ICPE, etc.
He/she pilots, with the General Manager and in compliance with group procedures, the establishment's multi-year investment plan.
He/she recruits, trains, and motivates potential collaborators, is committed to developing their skills, and supports their professional growth.
He/she reports on actions taken by his/her service to the General Manager and communicates effectively with hotel staff.
Finally, he/she is exemplary in behavior and management style and embodies the brand's spirit.
Technical Skills and Customer Relations:
- Organizes the control and maintenance of all installations contributing to the hygiene and safety of the establishment and its occupants and ensures staff training (within his/her service and other departments) on hotel safety rules and procedures
- Prepares and follows up on action plans of the Safety Commission and all regulatory control bodies
- Organizes regular technical installation inspections to prevent malfunctions and ensures the proper functioning of technological equipment in collaboration with dedicated departments
- Leads and optimizes the preventive maintenance plan to ensure the availability of site equipment through effective and economical maintenance
- Masters and optimizes energy consumption
- Tracks and addresses recurring hotel issues and implements appropriate corrective action plans
- Manages part of investment projects and supports the General Management and teams designated by the Group to carry out renovation projects
- Manages department budgets: operational maintenance and safety resources, maintenance contracts, occasional interventions, small equipment, and water/energy
- Advises the General Manager on specialized intervention needs, safety, investment programming, and projects and participates in the establishment's CHS meetings
- Complies with the group purchasing policy
- Has a service mindset with priorities always oriented towards the client (internal & external)
- Ensures optimal availability of spaces and tools for clients (rooms, lounges, restaurant, kitchen, etc.) as well as for staff
- Anticipates and handles client issues and implements proactive processes to promote customer satisfaction

Team Management / Cross-functional Involvement:
As a coaching manager, he/she:
- Recruits and trains potential collaborators at their workstation, in coordination with the human resources department and strictly within the budgets agreed with general management.
- Conducts annual evaluations of direct collaborators
- Organizes and controls the work of collaborators and develops their motivation by creating a good working atmosphere
- Identifies training needs of the team, proposes corresponding plans, and implements them once approved
- Advises other department heads on training related to safety and certain technical aspects of their profession (various certifications)
- Participates in the hotel CODIR (management committee)
Hygiene / Safety of People / Environment:
- Implements actions to maintain permanent fire safety of the establishment: equipment maintenance, monitoring and rounds, necessary training, revision or implementation of operating procedures (conduct to follow in case of fire, fire detection control center management, etc.), periodic alarm exercises, equipment testing and evacuation drills, proper regularity of regulatory controls and verifications, management of resulting action plans
- Keeps the hotel safety register up to date
- Implements action plans related to prescriptions from control offices and ensures information is shared by keeping the "SET" tool up to date (Dynamic monitoring tool on safety, environmental and technical aspects)
- Ensures application of the AccorInvest Legionella Directive procedures, especially regarding domestic hot water and air treatment. Ensures proper organization and monitoring of safety and fire training for all hotel staff
- Monitors compliance with the brand and group sustainable development & CSR policy and ensures respect and progress of associated action plans
- Is on call on the same basis as fellow department heads.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Initial training: BTS in electrotechnics, Bachelor's degree in hotel real estate maintenance, etc.
- 3 years of professional experience in a similar position
- Essential practical and theoretical skills: heating/cooling, air conditioning, building pathology, water treatment and pool management, ERP regulation (Public Access Building)
- Knowledge and use of computer tools
