Team Leader at the Sterilization Central Unit
The sterilization central unit of CHUV is looking for a sterilization team leader with an activity rate between 80% and 100% (permanent contract). The starting date is scheduled for June 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is responsible for ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The sterilization central unit is attached to the Hospital Logistics of CHUV. Its main mission is to provide sterile and functional products to all user services of CHUV, affiliated institutions, and external clients. Certified ISO 13485, it is a reference in the field of medical device reprocessing for other services and for external sterilizations. In this context, it provides training and information to the various health professionals involved.
Mission
- You master the medical device reprocessing process in accordance with client needs and respecting quality and institutional guidelines
- You participate in production activities
- You ensure daily supervision of production by supporting and managing your team members
- You provide training for permanent and temporary staff responsible for the activity
- You guarantee and verify the application of current procedures
- You plan the work schedules of team members
- You conduct annual performance reviews of team members
- You ensure communication and information flow between teams and hierarchy and contribute to the continuous improvement of the sector's services.
Profile
- You hold a diploma as a sterilization technician assistant (STE) level 2 and/or a federal certificate of competence (CFC) as a medical device technologist
- You have at least 3 years of experience in the paramedical or hospital field or experience deemed useful for the role
- You have already managed a team and your leadership is recognized
- You have great listening skills and empathy
- You enjoy working with technical equipment and demonstrate manual dexterity
- You appreciate teamwork, are precise, meticulous, adaptable, and have a strong sense of responsibility
- You have excellent knowledge of the French language, both spoken and written
- You master common computer and office tools
- You are able to handle potentially difficult or stressful situations
- You have a good ability to prioritize emergencies
- You are willing to work irregular hours (morning, evening, weekends, and public holidays), on-call duty, in a high-demand activity (handling heavy loads, cumulative significant weight).
