Representative – Commercial Marketing – Sudbury, Ontario
The Representative – Commercial Marketing plays a leading role in developing JTI-Macdonald's market share and volume in their territory by executing commercial programs, optimizing product distribution, ensuring optimal product quality and freshness, distributing core brands and stock levels, as well as collecting accurate and timely store data. They are also responsible for compliance with the retail sales agreement and the amounts allocated in the budget for management fees.
Position
Job functions:
- Optimize product distribution, product stock levels, space allocation, as well as establishing fair and competitive pricing in retail, wholesale, and self-service points of sale within their predefined territory.
- Ensure proper management of their territory regarding data reports, commercial program budgets, weekly expense accounts, vehicle inventory, tools, and maintenance of company vehicles.
- Negotiate independent retail sales contracts, maintain and monitor compliance for targeted key accounts that meet criteria established by regional management, while respecting the allocated budget and keeping account information up to date.
- Implement retail sales programs and launch products as indicated to optimize results and return on investment, while respecting the amounts allocated in the budget and ensuring quick and efficient execution.
- Teach our clients how to sell JTI-MC products to the public through appropriate communication of brand attributes and the use of marketing support tools developed by the Sales and Marketing group, and implement all retail sales projects assigned by the district sales manager.
- Verify compliance with all regional and national chain agreements applicable to their territory and report accordingly.
- Regularly meet with retail and wholesale clients about their business trends and the industry as a whole, and ensure effective and timely communication of competitive activities.
- Project a professional image, establish and maintain good business relationships with all clients, in accordance with JTI's Corporate Policy and Code of Conduct guidelines.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in decision-making processes with regional leaders.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Valid driver's license (a company car – company vehicle – will be provided).
- Ability to work effectively and deliver good performance with little supervision.
- Knowledge of financial planning and time management.
- Excellent practical knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Sales experience is an asset.
- English required, other languages an asset.
