In the Bachelor’s degree program in Film, students learn and experience how a film is made – from the first idea to the projection. They explore filmmaking in all its facets to enter the professional world after their studies or deepen their skills in one of the majors in the Master’s program: Fiction Directing, Documentary Film, Screenwriting, Camera, Film Editing, or Creative Producing. At the bachelor level, training in Production Design is also offered. New interdisciplinary formats lasting six weeks take place at the beginning of each academic year.
As of August 1, 2026, we are looking for a fixed-term position for three years for a
Teaching Assistant: Camera Department, 60%
Support of teaching in the Camera Department:
- Advising students on technical questions and shooting planning (image composition)
- Technical scheduling, support with equipment lending and return
- Accompanying seminars on camera operation and lighting and stage technology
- Teaching basics of camera technology and image composition
- Documentation and archiving of teaching materials
- Editing/cutting of camera and lighting tests or exercises
- Processing technical instructions and handouts
- Research for new acquisitions, assembling sets, functional testing
- Support in the film studio
- Support at teaching events and research projects
You have recently completed your training or studies in the field of film. You bring advanced knowledge of professional film technology (camera, lighting, sound, grip) and have already gained experience in cinematic image composition. Knowledge of film production processes as well as basic skills in film editing are also important. Good English and German language skills are required. The teaching assistant role requires a high level of resilience and flexibility. If you work reliably and are communicative, you meet further important requirements for this position.
