Our Data and AI Products team is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Product Owner to drive implementation of a cloud-based AI offerings supporting the analysis and action of complex problems in buildings and HVAC
Location: This position will be located in either Zug, Switzerland OR Vienna, Austria, Prerequisite is in any case your legal eligibility to work in the respective country and there will not be the need to relocate
Role Responsibilities
Backlog Ownership
- Understand the product backlog by breaking down complex AI business features into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Coordinate refinement with architects, data scientists, and engineering teams
- Conduct, along with experts, hands-on evaluation of existing technologies (both internal and external) to advise development teams on their choice options
- Understand and influence the data pipeline based on business requirements
Cross ‑ Functional Collaboration
- Act as the interface between data science / ML engineering, software engineering, UX/UI, domain experts (building automation / construction / energy), Product Management
- Be able to adjust communication style depending on the audience (technical and non-technical people)
- Product KPI & Development Performance Tracking
- Define how product performance (KPIs) should be tracked and implemented
- Continuously assess development performance and implement corrective actions
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; HVAC or mechanical engineering background is a plus
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager with strong understanding of at least one building-industry domain is a plus: automation / BMS / HVAC and energy systems /Facility management and operations/ Industrial IoT in buildings
- Also considered experienced building automation engineers transitioning into product roles
- Experience with deploying AI at scale in production
- Understanding AI model limitations (bias, drift, data sparsity) and key performance metrics (accuracy, precision, recall, RMSE)
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms with AWS as a clear advantage
- Familiarity with data pipelines, event streams, and production data workflows
- Understanding of building and IoT protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA for integration with AI systems
- Strong interpersonal and adaptive skills, including empathy, curiosity, clear communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to the ability to adapt quickly in uncertain situations and continuously refine solution
- Fluent in English
