We are a nationwide leading training provider for ICT apprenticeships and train IT, media technology, digital business developer, and electronics apprentices as well as prospective ICT professionals with a basic training year in St. Gallen, Bern, and Zurich for over 250 partner companies.

At our St. Gallen location (with assignments in Zurich), we are looking for an

IT Supporter (80% – 100%)

As part of our IT team, you ensure that everything runs smoothly – making top training possible for our apprentices by acting as the central contact point for our IT support. In this versatile position, you are the first point of contact for all IT questions and contribute significantly to the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

Your tasks

Your main task is to support our approximately 70 employees with IT questions and IT problems. This includes:

• Receiving, analyzing, and processing or delegating, escalating support requests (on-site, by phone, via ticketing system).
• Supporting and assisting internal employees and ICT apprentices with IT questions and problems.
• Incident management for incidents on our platform:
• Network and infrastructure (routers, switches, LAN, WLAN, etc.)
• Virtualization topics (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Peripherals (printers, monitors, etc.)
• Automation (Windmill, Power Automate)
• Backup infrastructure (Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam 365)
• Various line-of-business applications – training is done "on the job"
• Computer hardware (HP notebooks/PCs, Dell notebooks, HPE ProLiant servers, HPE Nimble, Alletra storage)
• User and rights management in a hybrid Microsoft 365 / Active Directory environment.
• Provision of classrooms with course-specific hardware and OS images.
• Installation, maintenance, and configuration of workstations, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
• Participation in internal IT projects.
• Assistance in the continuous optimization of support processes.

• You have several years of experience in IT support (1st & 2nd level) and enjoy working in an environment where young people and their individual development are at the center.
• Interest in new technologies, tools, and applications.
• You are a winning personality and have a sensitive touch in dealing with others.
• You have a structured way of working with a hands-on mentality.
• You have completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist EFZ or ICT professional.
• You speak, read, and write fluent German.

Professionally, you have at least the following skills:

• Solid knowledge in IT support (hardware and software, peripherals, networks).
• Solid knowledge in handling Microsoft 365, Windows client/server, and Active Directory.
• Microsoft cloud environments (Microsoft 365, increasingly also Azure).
• Good M365 apps application knowledge (Office, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• General understanding of networks and IT infrastructure.
• Experience in Google and Microsoft cloud areas as well as with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira) is an advantage.
