The Hunting and Fishery Administration supervises and promotes fisheries with the help of decentralized supervision and is responsible for maintaining a wildlife population adapted to local conditions. Taking into account the protection of endangered species, we ensure sustainable hunting and fishing use.
We are looking for a Fishery Inspector starting December 1, 2025, or by agreement
Your tasks
- Fishery-ecological care and management of waters in the supervisory district
- Preservation and improvement of the living conditions of fish, crayfish, and fish food organisms
- Co-responsibility for the operation of the Romanshorn fish breeding facility
- Control and monitoring of fisheries
- On-call service and interventions in case of water pollution throughout the canton
- Assessment of interventions in waters and issuing permits
- Statements and reports on construction and planning applications affecting aquatic wildlife habitats.
- Consultation of fishing clubs and lessees of fishing waters on fishery matters
Your profile
- You have completed vocational training and possess manual skills.
- You have knowledge of the relationships in fish biology (habitat & reproduction)
- You have several years of practical experience in fisheries
- You have a reliable and independent working style
- You are willing to work irregular hours and perform physically demanding work at times
- You are proficient in German, both spoken and written, and have good PC user skills (MS Office)
- You are communicative, team-oriented, flexible, and resilient
