About the job
We are a modern police force with 85 employees ensuring safety and order. Within the cantonal police, the command area with the departments of regional police, criminal police, and special services, as well as the staff services, report directly to the police commander.
We are looking for a
Head of Criminal Police 100%
starting July 1, 2026, or by agreement, with the workplace in Glarus.
Tasks
- Personnel and financial management and further development of the criminal police department
- Overall responsibility for all criminal police activities of the corps
- Participation in the command leadership staff
- Combating crime (prevention / repression)
- Maintaining contact with authorities, organizations, contacts from other cantons, and the public
- Leading and/or participating in criminal police working groups
- Representation of the criminal police in expert committees
- Performing command on-call duty
Requirements
- Completed studies in law or equivalent education
- Proven leadership experience and knowledge in the areas of criminal procedure law, criminology, or police work
- Analytical and networked thinking, structured working method
- High social competence, integrity, and resilience
- Dynamic and motivated leadership personality
