The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents, which aims to provide quality care adapted to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health problems faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth to the age of 16. It works on the development of cutting-edge services and specialty competence centers.
This position is divided between two different units of the general pediatrics service: the Pediatric Outpatient Consultations unit, which cares for children aged 0 to 16 who necessarily have outpatient follow-up in all pediatric specialties – see the website of the Children's Hospital – and the CORAIL Center, which is a trans-departmental structure offering multidisciplinary and comprehensive medical-psycho-social and school care for children suffering from rare and/or complex diseases and their families.
Job Description
Pediatric Outpatient Consultations Unit - 40%
As a nurse, you perform technical care and provide individualized relational support to patients.
You master the psychomotor development of the child and/or adolescent in order to observe and assess their behavior.
You also carry out transversal activities, such as examinations, coordination of care pathways, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and participation in the development or updating of protocols and internal procedures, in collaboration with the medical team.
You welcome the child and their family during the consultation and actively participate in the patient’s care plan in collaboration with the physician.
CORAIL Center - 40%
You coordinate care for children, in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to the HUG.
You help ensure coherence in the care pathway by coordinating the different interventions of the involved health professionals.
You actively participate in medical-care consultations, multidisciplinary meetings, network meetings, transition interviews, and follow-up in the care units of hospitalized children.
You intervene with families by supporting them, accompanying them in the challenges posed by rare diseases, providing clear information, and facilitating access to available resources.
This position requires technical, relational, and administrative skills to ensure care adapted to each child and family.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent recognized title by the Swiss Red Cross.
You have at least 4 years of experience in a pediatric hospital environment.
You have excellent command of French, both spoken and written, and are familiar with computer tools such as GRECO, OPALE.
You have an interest in children with disabilities or suffering from rare and/or complex diseases as well as a good knowledge of the Geneva care network.
You possess a keen sense of organization and priority management, as well as flexibility and adaptability regarding working hours.
Empathetic by nature, you practice non-judgmental communication, are attentive to others, proactive, and have a proven team spirit. You are adaptable and flexible, especially regarding working hours which may change.
Autonomous and proactive, you are capable of working interdisciplinarily and demonstrate versatility.
