The Aarau City Library is the popular media house for the city and region of Aarau. On four floors, books, films, comics, audiobooks, CDs, picture books, magazines, games, and much more are available to explore and borrow. The attractive event program draws a wide audience.

The City Library is looking for an intern starting September 1 or by arrangement.

In this role, you support customer service and contribute to a smooth and service-oriented process. You also assist in the planning, organization, and execution of events, training sessions, and tours, taking on both administrative and operational tasks. You actively participate in internal and external communication and work on various ongoing projects. Furthermore, you support media services and collection maintenance, thereby making an important contribution to the currency and quality of the available materials.

You have a gymnasium-level Matura, a completed vocational apprenticeship with vocational baccalaureate, or a comparable education. A good general education and broad interests characterize you as well as a confident linguistic expression. You enjoy interacting with customers and convince through a pronounced service orientation. Independent work, organizational talent, and creativity are among your strengths and enable you to handle tasks efficiently and solution-oriented.

We offer you optimal preparation for the Bachelor’s degree in Information Science at FH Graubünden or HEG Genève. You will gain a solid insight into the working methods of a modern public library and will be accompanied by a competent team throughout the internship. The internship includes integrated library and archive internships and lasts twelve months.
