Internship in Waste and Circular Economy
The Waste Management Section deals with waste and resource management in the Canton of Zurich. To support our team, we are looking for an intern for 6 - 12 months starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
You will support us in the approval and control of waste facilities, in municipal consulting, and in the field of circular economy. You will work closely in a team with interdisciplinary experts and handle diverse issues related to circular economy and environmentally friendly – sometimes also illegal – waste recycling.

Your tasks
- Work on projects in the area of waste avoidance in commercial and industrial enterprises, reuse of products, and removal of barriers to the circular economy
- Inspections of waste facilities including documentation
- Approval of waste facilities
- Information and advice to municipalities
- Data analysis and research
- Answering technical and legal questions from laypersons and professionals
Your profile
- You have a completed university degree (Bachelor) in environmental sciences / environmental engineering / geography / geology
- Good German skills in spoken and written form
- Curiosity, willingness to experiment, reliability, confident and friendly demeanor, enthusiasm for collaboration
