Deputy Host / Operations Manager Monastery Dornach m/f 80%-100% - Central Plateau
The Monastery Dornach, once the seat of the Capuchin monks in Dorneck, was a religious and pastoral center of Northwestern Switzerland for almost 350 years. Today it is a cultural meeting place for the residents of the Basel region. The historic buildings combine a hotel, a restaurant with a large monastery garden, and the monastery church, where services and concerts are regularly held. The restaurant operation features an à la carte restaurant with around 50 seats as well as several banquet and seminar rooms for 15 to 80 guests. In summer, there is also a garden restaurant with 120 seats. The culinary signature of the head chef is inspired by traditional French cuisine, harmoniously combining its Mediterranean and classical influences. Guests can experience the hotel in the special ambiance of 30 former monastery cells. Gastronomy and hospitality, alongside an attractive cultural program, social commitment, and an active church, are one of the four main pillars of the Monastery Dornach Foundation.

Your tasks:
Planning
- Support of management in all operational and administrative tasks
- Collaboration in organizing and coordinating daily processes in various departments
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with standards and quality requirements throughout the hotel operation
- Guest care and consultation
- Processing banquet inquiries and reservations
- Preparation of offers for banquet guests and hotel guests
- Monitoring inventory and reordering goods in cooperation with the departments
- Planning and coordination of special events
- Co-development of solutions and improvement of guest loyalty
General:
- Presentation of the house internally and externally as usually the first contact with the guest
- Reception and care of our guests
- Check-in and check-out
- Operation of the telephone switchboard
- Acceptance of individual and group reservations, as well as offer preparation in German and English
- Assistance in service as needed
- Preparation of the daily closing
- Assistance in service as needed
- Various administrative tasks
- Co-responsibility for smooth operational processes
Your profile
- Completed training in gastronomy/hospitality
- First leadership experience
- High guest orientation
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational talent
- Ability to remain professional and friendly in stressful situations
- Excellent time management and the ability to set priorities to make operational processes efficient
- Teamwork skills
