Who we are
For over 50 years, SSBL – Foundation for Self-Determined and Supported Living – has been supporting and caring for people with cognitive and multiple disabilities. Over 850 employees are committed daily with dedication and high professionalism to ensure that these people can lead as self-determined a life as possible.
In our residential groups Klewen 1A & 1B, five people with cognitive and/or psychological impairments live in each, who may show challenging behavior and therefore need closer, recurring, and individual daily structures. The care mandate includes close pedagogical support, which focuses on the learning process. In cooperation with our clients, alternative coping strategies are trained. The Residential Structure (WOST) is oriented towards the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD).
