Museum Technician
Office for Culture | Rhaetian Museum | 80-100% | Chur
Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a museum technician for the Rhaetian Museum in the Office for Culture starting March 1, 2026.
Your area of responsibility
- Building maintenance, upkeep, and supervision of the museum building, the cultural property protection room, the material storage, and the carpentry workshop with collection objects and all equipment
- Technical and craft planning and implementation of exhibitions
- Independent realization of exhibition architecture (furnishings and various constructions)
- Carpentry and craft work as well as procurement of necessary materials
- Setup and dismantling of exhibitions
- Collaboration in the organization, recording, and planning of object storage, transport, and management of the cultural property protection room's objects
- Provision of infrastructure for events
- Management and organization of the on-call service
- Supervision of temporary staff, civil service workers, and interns
What we expect from you
- Professional qualification as a craftsman, preferably as a cabinetmaker with several years of professional experience
- All-rounder for wood, painting, electrical, and wallpapering work
- Organizational skills and independent working style
- Sense for pragmatic, technical, and creative solutions
- Commitment, flexibility, and teamwork
- Interest in history and museum work
- Driver's license for passenger and small transport vehicles
- Residence near Chur (on-call service)
