The SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS are an independent public-law institution of the canton of Schaffhausen. More than 480 children and adolescents with physical and/or cognitive impairments, with speech, hearing, or other profound developmental disabilities are currently taught and supported integratively in the regular schools of the canton or separately at four locations in the city of Schaffhausen. In addition to various therapy offerings, we run a school-complementary area with lunch service, day structure, and boarding school. Over 570 employees are committed in various functions at the SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS.
As of February 1, 2026, we are looking for a
Certified Speech Therapist
80% workload
You will provide therapy to students in our school area for children and adolescents with intellectual and multiple disabilities and work in a school team with special education teachers, specialist teachers, speech therapists, medical therapists, and support staff.
Your professional tasks include planning, conducting, and evaluating therapy sessions. You mainly work in individual situations, but also in small groups and within the class. Each class has 3-4 weekly speech therapy lessons available; you set your priorities here independently and in coordination with the class teacher.
Interdisciplinary support planning according to ICF is part of our school. Constructive teamwork, participation in meetings and parent discussions, and report writing are also part of your responsibilities.
Persons qualified as speech therapists with a foreign diploma can be employed on a temporary basis until EDK recognition is obtained. An EDK-recognized speech therapy qualification is a prerequisite for permanent employment in the canton of Schaffhausen.
