The Cantonal Police of Appenzell I.Rh. with its approximately 40 employees is considered close to the people and
sees itself as a partnership-based service provider, with the focus on the individual.
Due to a professional change of the previous position holder, we are looking for a Head of Criminal Police as of
February 1, 2026, or by agreement.
You hold an officer rank and report directly to the Police Commander.
Together with your team, you ensure criminal police activities throughout the entire
cantonal area.
Your tasks
- Responsible for personnel and operational leadership of the criminal police
- Participation in various working groups nationwide and in the concordat
- Direct contact person for the public prosecutors' offices
- Leadership of the cantonal police in extraordinary situations according to FIP guidelines
- Responsible for the internal and external training of employees in criminal police matters
- Perform command on-call duty within the officer cadre
Your profile
- Several years of experience in the criminal police field, preferably with leadership experience
- Team player, strong leadership skills, and communicative
- Good knowledge of common IT systems
- Successful completion of the leadership course for police officers (CAS FIP), or willingness to complete it
- Strong perseverance, confident in negotiations, and a flair for innovative, pragmatic solutions
- Willingness to perform on-call and weekend duties
