The position is attached to the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR). This department combines a societal mission aimed at ensuring access to care for all and an academic mission focused on undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in primary care medicine.
The Primary Care Medicine Service provides outpatient care for adult patients within primary care medicine. This service also offers outpatient emergency medical services to the population. As part of the Geneva University Hospitals' general interest missions, it provides access to care for disadvantaged populations due to their age, social, economic, legal status (asylum seekers, rejected applicants, undocumented persons, prisoners), or lifestyle habits; if necessary, the Primary Care Medicine Service also ensures continuity of their care.
This position is linked to the faculty group "Medicine, Gender and Equity." It aims to systematically integrate sex and gender (S&G) concepts into undergraduate teaching at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva. The person in charge will conduct an assessment of the current situation regarding S&G teaching at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva, enhance existing teachings, and create content on missing topics. They will collaborate with other actors in the Swiss network working on S&G and the existing ecosystem at the Geneva University Hospitals and the Faculty of Medicine.
Job Description
The responsibilities of the position include ensuring that the PROFILES objectives related to "S&G" are achieved at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva.
You will participate in integrating "S&G" into the university medical training program at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva by complementing the existing teachings.
You will promote the integration of "S&G" in postgraduate and continuing medical education within the Geneva University Hospitals. You will participate in the training of "sex and gender" (S&G) for the faculty teaching staff and medical personnel at the Geneva University Hospitals involved in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education.
You aim to reduce "S&G" health inequalities through more equitable clinical care and maintain an inclusive perspective on other potential prejudice/stereotype/discrimination factors, emphasizing their intersectionality.
The tasks of the position include evaluating the current state of "medicine, sex and gender" teaching at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva, particularly the related PROFILES objectives.
You will identify missing specific activities and teachings to be integrated into the medical training curriculum at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva.
You will create the missing teaching materials and develop collaborations with existing networks to integrate them harmoniously.
You will highlight the elements already taught around "S&G" in the undergraduate medical curriculum at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva.
You will collaborate with the "Swiss Society for Gender Health" network and the GEMS platform, notably by regularly providing relevant content and promoting existing resources.
You will ensure the integration of these actions into the existing ecosystem within the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG Allies of Diversity, DEI Program, PCSE), particularly by contributing to integrating relevant faculty training into the training of medical staff at the Geneva University Hospitals and evaluating the results of these actions.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO recognition).
You have at least 3 years of clinical experience.
You ideally currently hold a position as head of clinic.
You have knowledge of sex and gender issues or a willingness to pursue the CAS Sex and Gender Specific Medicine ( https://www.gender-medicine.ch ).
You are proficient in French (C2) and English (C1/C2). You also have good writing skills in French.
You master office and project management tools (Excel, Word, Zoom, Teams, etc.).
You demonstrate autonomy, rigor, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
You have the ability to work independently with delegated responsibility.
