Secretary at the main operating room reception
The main operating room of the CHUV is looking for a unit secretary at an 80% activity rate, for a permanent contract starting January 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in the fields of care, research, and education.
The operating room is part of the Department of Interdisciplinary Centers (DCI), which includes several technical platforms, as well as the Emergency Service, Pharmacy Service, and Adult Intensive Care Service.
The main operating room of the CHUV includes 16 operating rooms, as well as an adult and pediatric recovery room. It is a multidisciplinary technical platform welcoming patients requiring surgical intervention. Each day, 14 rooms are open for scheduled interventions, 2 rooms are reserved for emergencies.
Mission
- You participate in the planning of operations under the delegation of the head and coordinator of the operating room, making necessary changes and informing the teams
- You handle the administrative tasks of the secretariat: organizing meetings, drafting minutes, managing mail, emails, and the telephone switchboard
- You welcome patients, visitors, and service professionals, and organize site visits
- You update various types of documents, lists, and the operating room intranet site
- You ensure communication between internal partners and operating room stakeholders.
Profile
- You hold a commercial employee CFC or a medical secretary diploma, with at least two years of experience in the medical field
- You have a good knowledge of medical terminology and master common computer tools (knowledge of Soarian and Axya is an asset)
- You are recognized for your sense of service and hospitality, your writing skills, and excellent spelling
- You are an organized, proactive, smiling person comfortable with multitasking
- You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment and are motivated to invest yourself in your duties
- Wearing operating room attire is not a barrier for you.
