FAMH Trainee Laboratory Scientist at the Institute of Microbiology
The Institute of Microbiology of the CHUV is looking for a FAMH trainee laboratory scientist, at a workload of 80% to 100%, for a start date on November 1, 2026.

Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a major role in care, research, and training.
The Institute of Microbiology of the CHUV and the University of Lausanne operates in a particularly rich academic and scientific environment, recognized for its excellence in clinical microbiology.
It includes a fundamental research sector as well as a diagnostic sector covering bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, infectious serology, molecular biology, and genomics.
FAMH specialists are responsible for biomedical analyses, diagnostic quality, technological monitoring, and liaison with prescribing physicians. FAMH training is a central mission of the Institute.
Mission
- You carry out your FAMH training according to the established program, in the different laboratory sectors (sample reception, microscopy and culture, molecular biology, mycobacteria, infectious serology, genomics)
- You perform and validate medico-technical services on delegation
- You participate in the development and evaluation of new diagnostic methods
- You contribute to the valorization of scientific results and grant applications
- You take part in the training and teaching of collaborators and students
- You participate in the management of the quality management system as well as the management of infrastructures and equipment.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in sciences (chemistry, biology, pharmacy) or a medical degree; an additional MD or PhD title is an asset
- You wish to undertake FAMH training in microbiology while working
- You demonstrate rigor, precision, and discretion
- You have excellent knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written
Depending on your profile, the salary class will be between level 9 and level 10.
