The Nursing Directorate embodies the authority in nursing matters. Its mission is to ensure the quality and safety of care within the institution. As such, the Nursing Directorate oversees all nursing activities (nursing staff and various health professional groups). To fulfill its mission, it relies on three deputy directors responsible for transformation in nursing, professional practices, and interprofessionality.

Job Description
In this strategic role, you lead the institutional nursing policy and directly contribute to quality, safety, and innovation within the hospital. As a permanent member of the executive committee, you participate in key decisions that guide the mission and development of the institution.
You propose a clear and motivating vision and define professional practices and standards as well as evaluation systems that ensure a high level of quality. You drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage actions that optimize team performance, patient safety, and the coherence of care pathways.
In partnership with nursing teams and medical departments, you develop a harmonized and collaborative operation across all care sectors, while strengthening cooperation with the cantonal and regional network. You identify collaboration opportunities with internal and/or external partners and act as a promoter of interprofessionality.
You place central importance on training and the development of future professionals: initial and continuing education, leadership deployment, coordination of training policies in close connection with academic and professional partners. You actively support various programs and development plans for future professionals at the internal and cantonal levels.
You initiate and lead strategic and/or research projects aimed at enriching nursing science knowledge, improving service quality, and anticipating organizational, technological, diagnostic, and therapeutic evolutions.
You actively participate in implementing the institutional strategy, as well as in planning the logistical, IT, and architectural infrastructures necessary for the evolution of care.
You represent the nursing authority to the General Management, internal and external bodies, professional associations, and institutional partners. You contribute to the strategic bodies of the HUG and advise the General Management on all nursing-related issues.
Qualifications
You hold a university degree in nursing sciences complemented by continuing education in leadership. You have held strategic positions within a large hospital institution, ideally university-affiliated, and have a thorough understanding of complex and interdisciplinary environments.
You possess strong organizational management skills: management of human and financial resources, workload analysis, optimization of operational organization, and coordination between different departments. Your expertise in quality and safety of care is recognized: defining standards, implementing evaluation processes, audits, and continuous improvement. Thanks to your analytical and listening skills, you are able to make informed decisions in a constantly evolving context. You demonstrate consistency between your decisions and actions.
Throughout your career, you have demonstrated proven abilities to unite teams, support major transformations, and promote collaboration. You are recognized for your excellent communication, negotiation, and institutional representation skills.
You show a strong interest in training and future professional development, with an ability to collaborate closely with educational partners. You encourage the development of clinical research projects and the management of prospective projects and analyses.
