Dentist for the Dental Medicine Service
The Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine Service of the Department of Surgery (DC) at CHUV is looking for a motivated and committed dentist to join its dynamic team at a workload between 80% and 100%.
The starting date is scheduled for January 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Since July 1, 2018, the Dental Medicine Service (SMD) has been working closely with the oral and maxillofacial surgery division of the ENT service, positioning the service as a reference and support center for practicing dentists and network partners.
The service is distinguished by the diversity and richness of its activity locations, its dentists working:
- in the dental offices at Bugnon 44,
- at the Children’s Hospital (HE),
- in the four penitentiary institutions of the canton,
- in the operating rooms of CHUV,
- as well as at the Beaumont Ambulatory Surgery Center (CCA).
This organization offers a unique clinical variety, ranging from basic care to complex situations in a hospital environment.
Mission
- You ensure the diagnosis and treatment of dental and non-dental conditions of the oral cavity in a hospital environment, for patients with specific needs
- You perform conservative dental care and contribute to the long-term follow-up of patients
- You develop and maintain clinical expertise in prevention, conservative care, conventional prosthetics, and implantology
- You perform dental care under general anesthesia in the operating rooms of CHUV, CCA, and the Children’s Hospital
- You provide dental care to incarcerated persons in the penitentiary institutions of the canton of Vaud
- You participate in the weekly service meeting and contribute to the interdisciplinary dynamic.
Profile
- You hold a federal diploma as a dentist or a title recognized by MEBEKO
- You have at least one year of professional experience in a practice or hospital setting
- You have excellent command of French (level C1) and English
- You are comfortable with common computer tools
- You demonstrate rigor, excellent clinical sense, a strong team spirit, and strong motivation to work in a varied and demanding clinical environment.
