Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Vice President & General Manager, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently providing professional, friendly, and engaging service,
- Ensuring the daily management and supervision of the People & Culture department, while actively contributing to the implementation of the hotel's human resources strategy.
- Assessing organizational needs, developing coherent talent management solutions, and implementing strategies in employee relations, compensation and benefits, recognition, administration, and employee well-being,
- Promoting positive relationships with employees in an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect, and enthusiasm,
- Assisting department heads, senior executives, and supervisors in developing specific action plans to address issues and concerns expressed in employee appraisals,
- Effectively managing the annual People & Culture department budget,
- Mastery of payroll management,
- Mastery of Swiss laws and their application and ensuring compliance with these rules,
- Conducting People & Culture audits,
- Participating in Global & L&D corporate meetings,
- Responsible for managing staff residence,
- Managing global recruitment for the hotel,
- Managing employee social insurance,
- Setting department objectives (financial and employee commitments) and implementing actions to exceed them,
- Implementing recruitment, performance evaluation, and training systems,
- Recruiting participants for the Inspire program, supervisors, senior executives, and department heads using the INES system (Smart Recruiters),
- Facilitating group trainings: Integration, prevention regarding Discrimination & harassment, Heartist, Brand Culture, Train the Trainer, Management by interactions, salary system, etc.,
- Balancing operational, administrative, and employee needs,
- Ensuring compliance with Accor and Fairmont group procedures as described in the People & Culture manual,
- Promoting Fairmont brand and Accor group initiatives in People & Culture (Hives, Bench, Own it, etc.),
- Managing recognition programs, Health & Safety, and participation in People & Culture Sustainability (green globe),
- Ensuring management of employee benefits,
- Ensuring the audit and employee survey process and action plans,
- Creating the Opinion Survey action plan (Employee survey) following results and ensuring follow-up,
- Conducting evaluations of People & Culture team members,
- Being responsible for weekly schedules according to the law and daily validation of hours,
- Producing People & Culture performance and data statistical reports,
- Being the guardian of current labor laws and company culture,
- Respecting department policies and procedures,
- Complying with all safety policies,
- Other tasks as assigned.
- 7 years of leadership experience in People & Culture required,
- Fluency in French and English, written and spoken,
- Knowledge of German is an asset,
- Experience in training required,
- Excellent knowledge of laws and their applications,
- Ability to use Microsoft Office required,
- A university degree in a related discipline is preferred,
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills,
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills,
- Particularly responsible and reliable,
- Excellent conflict management skills,
- Training in quality management,
- Ability to work in a close-knit team,
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must possess a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
