The Zurich University of Teacher Education actively shapes education, school, and teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. It trains teachers of all levels and supports teaching and leadership staff of public schools, vocational schools, and universities as well as other educational stakeholders with a comprehensive continuing education and service offering.
The Department Finance and Controlling is the financial conscience of the university. It consolidates, analyzes, and interprets financial data, thus creating the basis for sustainable and effective management of the entire university.

You are responsible for the further development of controlling and take on the professional as well as personnel leadership of the controlling team – in line with a partnership-based and development-oriented leadership approach.
- Further development of a meaningful cost accounting including reporting
- Key role in the further development of PHZH controlling (systems, processes, key figures, and organization)
- Interface to the Education and Finance Directorate of the Canton of Zurich
- Further development of the Management Information System (MIS) in Power BI
- Ensuring the internal control system (ICS) for controlling
- Active participation in innovations of existing planning tools as well as evaluation and introduction of new controlling tools
- Close cooperation with university management, management, and departments as a competent sparring partner
- Ensuring clear, understandable, and target group-oriented preparation and communication of financial and management information
- Business administration education at university / university of applied sciences level and/or qualification as an expert in accounting and controlling
- Several years of professional experience in controlling and project management, ideally in a university or administrative environment
- Experience in leading employees or strong motivation and potential to develop into a leadership role
- High social competence and enjoyment of collaboration and teamwork
- Solid knowledge and experience in multi-year planning, budgeting, forecasting, monthly and annual financial statements, and reporting
- Strong analytical skills, decisiveness, and flexibility in dealing with complex issues
- Very good communication skills in German (m/f) and the ability to convey complex content understandably and translate between different stakeholder groups
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
- Experience with ERP systems (ideally with SAP)
