Head of Road Police / Deputy Head of Territorial and Road Police
Cantonal Police | 80–100 % | Chur
The Road Police makes a fundamental contribution to road safety and optimal traffic flow. In this responsible managerial role, you will lead a diverse organizational sector with about 80 employees and actively participate in the further strategic development of the Road Police.
We are looking for a flexible and motivated person as Head of Road Police / Deputy Head of Territorial and Road Police.
Tasks
- Management of the Road Police sector
- Personnel management, both specialist and organizational, of subordinate managers in various special and specialist sectors (Northern Road Police Center, Traffic Registration, Road Police Technical Service, Traffic Administration, heavy traffic with the control centers Unterrealta (Cazis) and Campagnola (San Vittore) and with the network of traffic competencies)
- Ensuring basic support in road police matters within the geographical area of responsibility
- Support to the Head of Territorial and Road Police as deputy and in the specialist transport sector
- Support to the Territorial Police in fulfilling road police duties as a competent specialist
- Maintaining close cooperation with the Public Prosecutor's Office and other cantonal, inter-cantonal, and national authorities
- Further development of the organization in terms of structure, processes, and professional training
- Participation in management as a member
- Regular service as an on-call officer
What we expect from you
- Ideally, a diploma as a lawyer or equivalent study cycles
- Preferably experience as a police officer or solid specialist knowledge of judicial and road police as well as pronounced practical knowledge of police, criminal, and criminal procedure law
- An innovative personality capable of interdisciplinary thinking, with strategic, conceptual, and communicative strengths
- A motivating and team-oriented leadership style, self-confidence, and assertiveness
- Interest in the strategic and business-economic aspects of leadership activities
- Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High social competence, flexibility, and strong ability to cope with stressful situations
- Structured working method and ability to communicate appropriately to the situation
- Desirable knowledge of Italian
