Head Nurse of the Care Unit - Occupational Medicine
To complete our team, we are looking for a Head Nurse of the Care Unit (ICUS) for the Occupational Medicine Unit of the CHUV at a 50% activity rate. Desired start date April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The CHUV Occupational Medicine Unit offers services in the following areas:
- prevention of occupational risks
- management of blood and biological fluid exposure accidents
- specialized occupational medicine consultations
- social services for staff.
These services are available to all CHUV employees.
Mission
- You ensure efficient and safe patient care
- You efficiently lead the nursing team of your unit
- You participate in service management in collaboration with your hierarchy and interdisciplinary managers
- You organize and supervise training, teaching, and research activities related to care
- You act as a liaison between your Unit and the Service management.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma (or an equivalent recognized title as well as Red Cross recognition, mandatory)
- You have completed proximity management training (over 300 hours) or are motivated to complete this training (mandatory)
- You have clinical training at CAS level, an asset
- You have confirmed clinical expertise in acute care
- You have experience in this sector, an asset
- You have the ability to assume management and personnel supervision responsibilities
- You are dynamic, proactive, and open to change
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You master the IT tools used at CHUV
- You are proficient in spoken/written French (level C1).
